Short-term road safety and maintenance projects

We're trialling sand fences along the Waikorire/Pilot Bay foreshore to test whether they can help trap and retain wind-blown sand and prevent erosion of the foreshore bank.

We’re resurfacing asphalt on Pyes Pā Road, between the SH29A roundabout and Braithwaite Lane, as part of our regular road maintenance programme.

We recently completed Stage 2 of the Bethlehem Road safety and stormwater upgrades.

We’re replenishing sand along the Pilot Bay foreshore to restore areas affected by coastal erosion and help keep the beach safe and enjoyable for summer.

We’re repairing a section of the Pilot Bay seawall to keep the area safe and protect the nearby footpath and car park.
