Short-term road safety and maintenance projects

We’re constructing a new section of footpath on both sides of Ashley Place to connect with the existing footpath and make walking in the area safer and easier.

We’re upgrading the pedestrian crossing on Girven Road, located between Hawea and Grenada Streets, to a signalised crossing to make it safer and easier for everyone to get around.

We’re upgrading the wastewater network on Maleme Street to improve capacity, reduce future issues and support growth. Temporary traffic and access disruptions will apply during construction.

We are repairing a slip affecting the shoulder of Ōropi Road, between the SH29A roundabout and Maleme Street. Delays are expected with traffic management in place – please plan ahead if you travel through this area or along SH29A.

We’re making safety improvements to pedestrian crossings around Mount Maunganui Primary School.
