We’re constructing a new section of footpath on both sides of Ashley Place to connect with the existing footpath and installing a pram crossing at the Ashley Place-Kopukairoa Boulevard intersection.
Why are we doing this?
We’re working to improve safety, accessibility, and convenience for those who use Ashley Place daily, including parents with strollers, mobility users, children, and people on scooters or bikes.
This work fills a missing gap in the footpath network, improving access to homes, bus stops, parks, and nearby walkways.
What are we doing?
- Construction a 252-metre section of footpath to connect with the existing footpath.
- Installing a pram crossing at the intersection of Ashley Place–Kopukairoa Boulevard
- Relocating 10 trees to accommodate the footpath
When is the work taking place?
Work is underway and should be completed in mid to late August, weather dependent.
Traffic management
- There will be shoulder closures and possible footpath detours, please follow the traffic management signs
- Residents/businesses will still have access to their driveways
