Pilot Bay seawall repairs

We’re repairing a section of the Pilot Bay seawall to keep the area safe and protect the nearby footpath and car park.

Why are we doing it?

Over time, the seawall has become damaged. Some parts have large gaps, and the wire cages that hold the rocks together have broken in places. These temporary repairs will make the area safer for summer while we work on a long-term plan to fully renew the seawall.

What are we doing?

Installing new mesh over the gaps and broken wire sections to provide structural support.
Spraying concrete into the gaps to stop water getting in and washing away material under the footpath.

When are we doing it?

Work is scheduled to take place from Monday, 10 November, to Friday, 21 November 2025, weather dependent.

What to expect while works are underway

Around half of the parking spaces at the Salisbury Wharf car park will be unavailable during the works to accommodate equipment and materials on-site.

Fencing and signage will be in place around the work area, and some noise can be expected while work is carried out.
