Ōpūpū – Rotary Park seawall

Ōpūpū – Rotary Park seawall replacement

Works include replacing 120 metres of seawall and completing minor repairs to the boat ramp.

Works programme

The existing seawall is deteriorating and in need of replacement. Works include replacing the existing seawall with a new tiered, timber pile retaining wall. The new seawall has stepped levels to reduce fall risks and keep the natural shape of the shoreline.

Replacing the existing seawall will not alter flood modelling at the park or create additional flooding risk to nearby properties. The eleven mature trees located near the seawall will be retained.

The existing boat ramp will remain mostly unchanged and receive minor repairs.

It’s expected works will take eight weeks.
