Allan McBride Reserve upgrade

We’re transforming Allan McBride Reserve, Gate Pā into a vibrant, welcoming, inclusive space.

Tell us what you think

We want your ideas to help bring Allan McBride Reserve to life. This is your space – a  place for local rangatahi, tamariki and whānau to play, relax and connect.

Tell us what matters most to you. What would make Allan McBride Reserve a place you’re proud of and want to spend time in?

Community consultation opens on Monday, 29 September 2025 and closes 5pm, Friday 24 October 2025.

Community open day

We’ve teamed up with local school Tauranga Girls College, to help us design a space that truly feels like theirs – and will benefit the whole community. We want to make sure the new playground and reserve reflect the people who enjoy it most.

We’re hosting a community session at Allan McBride Reserve, and we’d love for you to join us. It’s a great chance to share your ideas for the space and vote on the play equipment you’d like to see.

Whether you visit often or are just looking forward to future fun, we’d love to hear from you!

  • Saturday 11 October 2pm to 4pm

Construction is planned for 2026, but the design journey is just getting started.
