Safety improvements ready to roll near new destination skatepark

Progress on the new Mount Maunganui destination skatepark is rolling on. As part of improving connectivity in the area, work has just begun on upgrading the pedestrian level crossing at Hull Road, providing a safer crossing point over the railway line to the new skatepark.

Several recommendations have been agreed to by Tauranga City Council to better regulate the use of land in the Mount Maunganui Industrial Area and to improve environmental and cultural well-being outcomes.

Future focus for Mount to Arataki

Community engagement on the draft Mount to Arataki Spatial Plan is now complete, with most responders showing support for making it easier and safer to get around, improving air quality in the area, and for targeted local neighbourhood outcomes in Omanu and Arataki.
