Work has begun on a new ‘living seawall’ that will attract marine plants and animals to the waterfront along The Strand in Tauranga city centre.
Work is about to begin at the northern end of the waterfront in the city centre to protect and improve access to one of our city’s greatest assets - Te Awanui, Tauranga Harbour.
The transformation of Tauranga’s city centre is underway, and people can expect to see a lot more Tauranga City Council projects kicking off there in the coming months.
Tauranga City Council’s Commission today agreed to delay implementing the extension of paid parking in the city centre until after summer.
To ensure the future safety of people crossing and travelling along Elizabeth Street, a section of the road will close for nine days from next week so that improvements can be made.
