Beacon Wharf render

Beacon Wharf redevelopment

Work is underway on the Beacon Wharf redevelopment.

As part of the plans to revitalise the city centre, we’re creating more ways for people to experience the harbourside, including the redevelopment of Beacon Wharf on Dive Crescent. It will feature a new gangway, pontoon and improved landscaping with a viewing platform, along with a refurbished seawall. The new pontoon will provide easier access to the inner harbour for recreational boats, kayaks, paddleboards and a place to enjoy fishing.

Why are we doing this?

The project is part of Tauranga City Council’s wider waterfront transformation plans to help breathe life back into the area and revitalise the city centre.

As part of this, we are upgrading key city centre streetscapes and public spaces. This will help transform our city centre into an even greater place for our community and visitors to enjoy. Beacon Wharf is an iconic location in Tauranga and once it has been redeveloped, it will offer improved facilities for our community to continue experiencing the Tauranga moana.
