A lane closure will be in place on Te Puke Highway from 5am Monday, 20 February to allow for a second coat of seal over recently laid sections.
This is the final stage of a two coat seal design and is expected to take four days (weather dependent). Traffic management will remain in place for a further two days after the road is fully reopened.
The lane closure is required due to a narrow section in the road and shoulder, which cannot accommodate the work to be completed safely while keeping two lanes of traffic open.
While the lane closure is in place, traffic heading towards Te Puke from Tauranga/Papamoa will be diverted along the Tara Road, Parton Road, Bell Road route. VMS boards will be displayed advising of the upcoming diversion dates.
Traffic travelling from Te Puke towards Tauranga will continue as normal, with speed restrictions in place.
