The Harbourside walkway is a 130m timber structure that sits at the end of the Strand reclamation. Tauranga City Council is seeking to engage an experienced and competent contractor to carry out the renewal of the Harbourside Walkway. This includes the demolition and removal of the existing structure, the installation of new piles, joists, bearers, decking and balustrading.
Also included within the scope is the renewal of approximately 560m² of the Mount boardwalk and an associated set of stairs leading to the beach.
The scope of work includes:
- The demolition of the existing walkway and disposal of the arising’s
- Construction of a new piled timber boardwalk including balustrades and the replacement of the existing dinghy ramp
- All temporary works required to complete the works in accordance with the resource and building consents issued for the works
- Renewal of boardwalk decking and bearers at the Mount.
- De-nailing and transport of the Mount boardwalk timber to McLarens Falls Park
Tauranga City Council anticipates releasing the RFT for these works on the 31st January 2018.
