Library car park and building demolition

Demolition of our Administration building on Willow Street is underway. As a result, there are fewer parks available in the library car park on Hamilton Street until the end of August, as part of health and safety measures in place during the demolition.

There is an alternative book drop-off at the main entrance to the library, and pedestrian access from the car park to Wharf Street is between the library and Baycourt.

We’ve added two mobility parks in Masonic Park, and another mobility park on Durham Street, near Baycourt during this time.

Council’s Customer Service Centre and the library will be open normal hours.

From late August, the library car park will closed until the demolition is complete, which is currently scheduled to be late October 2017.

We apologise for any inconvenience during this time, as we work towards creating a vibrant, safe and successful city centre.
