Improving Esk Street Reserve

We’re carrying out important maintenance work around the stream in Esk Street Reserve in Parkvale, to keep the pathway safe and accessible for users.

What are we doing?

To improve water flow, our team will be using an excavator to carefully remove logs and other debris from the stream. This will help the water move more freely toward Waimapu Estuary.

We’ll also be removing dead trees from the stream banks. If they are left in place, they pose a risk of collapsing the banks and could also impact the nearby pathway. Clearing them now will help to prevent future hazards.

As a result of machinery being used during these works, and to keep everyone safe, the path will be closed while our team are on-site.

When are we doing it?

Our team will be working in the reserve on Thursday 18 and Friday 19 September, rain or shine. If you are planning to visit the reserve, please respect the closed work area and our team on-site.

Thanks for your patience while this important work is taking place.
