Overflow Notification
This is to notify you that a wastewater overflow has occurred at Waikareao Way, Tauranga on 14 April 2025.
The overflow was a result of wipes. This will have impacted, Waikareao Estuary.
Current Actions
Council staff and contractors have cleared the blockage and disinfected the affected area. Warning signs have been erected at public access points around the Waikareao Estuary.
Water quality sampling will be undertaken as weather permits.
